Austin David Benjamin Strange

October 21, 1995 - February 11, 2024

“On the day that you were born the angels got together and decided to create a dream come true, so they sprinkled moon dust in your hair and golden starlight in your eyes of blue. That is why”… loving you and being loved by you was our privilege.

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Austin Strange announce the passing of this beautiful soul. His incredible smile and the unforgettable radiant bright light Austin exuded will be the snapshot that will forever remain when we think of him. Anyone that knew Austin knew that from a very young age his desire to help others was a priority. He was quick to hug, console a broken heart, save, or bring home an injured bird, listen, help a friend, cook, or bake, buy food for someone with none, fundraise, entertain, dance, or just try to make someone laugh in a way only Austin could, which generally was accompanied with his signature twerking. He never hesitated to say I love you or how much he loved you. He was someone who took the time to look into the eyes of strangers or those that others may pass by without a glance, leaving that person knowing…I see you and you matter.

Austin will forever be the missing piece of his mother Debbie’s heart and missed by his father Broderick, baby sister/friend Alexa and new brother Enoch Penney-Laryea. Also, his precious Mama cat and Elio.

Austin was and will remain the definition of the word passionate and gratefully he filled so many of his passions in the short years he was with us. Austins childlike excitement, was so uplifting, his zest for life so unique and his creativity exceptional. He was all inclusive and loved straight from his heart. He was gifted with a brilliant mind and memory and would happily challenge anyone on any topic. Austin mastered many things in his life, the most obvious being his music but also his love of gardening and his ability to grow almost anything with success.

His musical talents were beyond imagination and his compositions unmatched. His one of kind recorded music will only become more powerful, celebrated, and rejoiced. What a special gift he left us all, the gift of continuing to hear his voice and see his face through his videos.

Listen to his music…dance to his music and sing, sing, sing along to his music…as nothing would make Austin happier!

A celebration of life is planned to take place in the summer with details to follow.

“Near, far, wherever you are “…please know sweet boy you will never be forgotten. You will remain a legend in our hearts. You loved hard and we will continue to love you harder. You are now with God and some of your favourite people. We hope you have acres of lush land to plant an overflowing and abundant garden and all your questions are now answered. Heaven’s choir just gained the voice of an angel.

In honour of Austin may we stop to say hello to that stranger, hand someone in need a warm drink and snack, see through your heart and not your eyes. To show compassion to someone suffering.

Donations in Austins memory would be appreciated to World Vision, Sick Children’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton or Noronto Campgrounds.
