Obituary of Vicki Noralyn MIRANDA

Please share a memory of Vicki to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

April 19, 1941 - February 1, 2024

Predeceased by her adoring husband Luis Hector (2016). Survived by her children Michelle Quinton (Dave 2021) & Michael and Mary Miranda.

Proud Grandma of Tyler and Bethany Quinton and Sean and Madeline Miranda. Remembered fondly by Nick Kurtz (Stuart) and Amelia Reich (Jeff). Bonus GG to Reggie and Roger Reich. Missed by her siblings George Phelps & Mike and Mona Phelps. Feeling the loss are cousins Penny and Kenneth Laycock and Dale Longlitz.

Extended family across Canada, Mexico, USA and NZ are missing her and sharing great memories including Adriana Barcenas Miranda. The global outpouring of sympathy from friends and associates speaks volumes to the impact Luis and Vicki made in their lifetime.

Vicki’s loyal furry companion Maxie has retired to Saugeen Shores and is enjoying the daily walks and romps thru the forest and on the beach. Special thanks to Bill and Elizabeth White for loving Maxie and being such a big help to Vicki.

Vicki was born in Unity, SK and grew up in Toronto. Her first job was at Bell. She met the love of her life in an ice cream parlour while on holiday in Mexico and that was the beginning of a lifetime of travel and opportunities that they built together. Living in Venezuela, Mexico and Florida before returning to reside in Ontario, Vicki was a great hostess remembered for her creativity, humour and always opening her heart and home to family and friends.

Upon returning to Ontario, Vicki built a highly respected career in the giftware industry as a Buyer and Marketing VP for Berco, Giftcraft and Company 3. She travelled extensively in the Orient in this capacity and made great friends along the way. Missing her deeply are many, especially Gail Garber, Rosanna Ho and Judi Rappaport.

After the loss of Luis, Vicki built friendships in the community they had earlier moved into. She could be found sitting on her front porch with Maxie and neighbours would join in for great conversation, laughs, and a wine or coffee. The family remains thankful to this great group of people – The Porch Club.

We wish to thank Mark Penfold,  Dr. Anna Davenport, Dr. Jason Dodge, Dr. Laframbois and staff at PMH, the staff at GRRCC esp Dr Pierre Fortin for his candour and clarity; Nurse Emily, Dr Jennifer Asselstine and Dr Chris Lund and the nurses at GMCH as well as the supportive staff at SJHCG Palliative Wing.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Acts of Kindness in memory of Vicki are appreciated.
