SERVICE TIME CHANGE

With heavy hearts, great sadness and much love, we announce the death of our beautiful mom, Janet Marlene Elgie. Janet, passed away on Thursday January 25, 2024 at the age of 69.

Janet was an only child born to parents, William (Bill) and Marion (Wray) Elgie, on June 5 1954. Janet grew up on her parents farm near Marsville, on the 12th line of East Garafraxa.

After graduating from Orangeville District Secondary School, Janet proudly worked for 15 years at the Orangeville branch of the Bank of Montreal. Janet was known for her warm smile and laughter. Janet had a knack for fashion and style and loved shopping. Looking her best was imperative, and she enjoyed sparkly jewellery, long red painted finger nails, high heels and colourful purses. Janet loved country music, dancing and was an avid poet. In her younger years, Janet played a competitive game of baseball in Hillsburgh, Ontario. Most importantly, Janet loved her family!

Janet was loved and cherished by her two daughters Charlene Weber (Rick) and Lisa Weishar (Mike), and treasured grandmother to three granddaughters; Brooke Weishar, Dakota Weishar and Cassandra Weber.

Mom and Grandma, may you rest in peace. We love you, we will miss you, but you will be in our hearts forever.

In keeping with Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place. 

Please join Janet’s family, and help share your memories and your stories at a celebration of Janet’s life, which will take place on Friday July 12, 2024 at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc., 28 Main Street North, Grand Valley, L9W 5S7 from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm. Followed by burial at Grand Valley Union Cemetery. There will be Words of Remembrance at 1:00pm. 

Donations in Janet’s memory to Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
